Shat-R-Shield announced the addition of reduced-wattage metal halide lamps to its line of safety-coated lighting products. A 360-watt metal halide lamp will immediately save 40 watts of power compared to the standard 400-watt model, says the company. A 360-watt metal halide lamp is a direct replacement for a 400-watt model with no ballast change required. Reduced-wattage metal halides have protective shrouds, can be used in open fixtures and are offered as clear or inside frosted models, says the company.
